This book is perfect for this spooky season because what's Halloween without some witches? And Legacy Witches has some murderous evil ones that will have you screaming.
Our main protagonist is a young woman who ran away from Salem trying to escape her blood legacy of taking over the family coven. Her mother is dedicated to the cause and is not a traditional loving role model. Her entire being is committed to putting the coven first above all else, even family.
But our protagonist doesn't want anything to do with it. She's tired of the bloodshed, curses, and political infighting among the various covens. But when her mother dies, she finds herself back in Salem to make arrangements and that's when things start falling apart.
She can see dead people after all, and the house is possessed by the family familiar. A demon who isn't happy about this change, at least at first.
Through a series of circumstances, our main character finds her situation going from bad to worse and she has some life changing decisions to make concerning her family and bloodline and legacy.
Cass Kay has written a fantastic character and given her a vulnerability as well as a stubborness to help her through the worsening situations she's in. This book has heart but also is a fast paced read that begs you to keep the pages turning.
