Slaughter Lake by Jay Bower and David Viergutz review

Just in time for the Halloween season comes this beautifully bloody, gloriously disgusting, and delightfully disturbing novel, Slaughter Lake.

This is a slasher movie but in book form. As you read, the scenes wil play out in your head giving you the visceral thrills you would expect from a movie in that genre.

We have five friends, two couples and an odd man out, who haven't gotten together in five years. Life happens, after all, and each one is going through things in their lives.

When they unexpectedly meet again, plans are made to get the group back together. While the men find Jude (the odd man out) a little creepy and weird, the women kind of feel bad for him because he seems lonely and has always been picked on. So, reluctantly, they agree to this reunion.

Jude suggests that they all head to his family's cabin in the woods at a place called Slaughter Lake. They used to go every year as a group and he convinces them that the trip would be relaxing and give them time to de-stress in the beauty of nature.

Well, if you've ever seen a slasher film you know what's coming next and this book definitely does not disappoint!

As the group finds themselves being tortured and tormented , in full gore filled detail, the authors let loose horrifying and "holy shit" moments that will haunt you after the book is done.

This is a great ol'fashioned slasher novel whos only goal is to scare you and it succeeds in doing that! Get your copy of Slaughter Lake by clicking here.
